Our client is a 766 school operating year-round. The primary task of the Special Education Teacher is the academic instruction of the students, which involves a broad range of responsibilities due to the overlapping nature of the students' learning disabilities and behavior disorders.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Preparation and implementation of daily lesson plans.
- Supervision of Assistant Teachers and Classroom Aides/Childcare Workers.
- Assessment and diagnosis of learning difficulties and behaviors through observation and formal/informal assessment.
- Compliance with MA and Federal Special Education regulations.
- Evaluation of Assistant Teachers, interns, and special projects.
- Attendance at staff and supervision meetings.
- Participation in clinical conferences and preparation of reports.
- Development of individual programs for summer school students.
- Assist with lunch/recess duties.
- Support the Director of Special Education in curriculum evaluation and policy design.
Requirements:
- Degree and current certification in Special Education- Moderate Special Needs
