Our client is a 766 school operating year-round. The primary task of the Special Education Teacher is the academic instruction of the students, which involves a broad range of responsibilities due to the overlapping nature of the students' learning disabilities and behavior disorders.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and implementation of daily lesson plans.
  • Supervision of Assistant Teachers and Classroom Aides/Childcare Workers.
  • Assessment and diagnosis of learning difficulties and behaviors through observation and formal/informal assessment.
  • Compliance with MA and Federal Special Education regulations.
  • Evaluation of Assistant Teachers, interns, and special projects.
  • Attendance at staff and supervision meetings.
  • Participation in clinical conferences and preparation of reports.
  • Development of individual programs for summer school students.
  • Assist with lunch/recess duties.
  • Support the Director of Special Education in curriculum evaluation and policy design.

Requirements:

  • Degree and current certification in Special Education- Moderate Special Needs
