Are you an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology? We are revolutionizing the aerospace industry by building the fastest, smallest, heavy-lift micro-turbine powered VTOL aircraft ever designed. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team in Long Beach, CA.
Key Requirements (Please Read Carefully):

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Aerospace Engineering from a well-regarded university.

5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.

US Citizen (due to access to export-controlled data).

Expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other forms of mechanical analysis.
-
Extensive experience and proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent).

Experience as a Resident Engineer (RE) is highly desirable.

Preferably, experience working at well-known aerospace companies.

Must be willing to work on-site in Long Beach, CA. (Relocation assistance is not available.)
MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE (Really, Please Believe Us):

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical field, with at least 5+ years of experience.

Extensive experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent).

Strong background in stress analysis (hand calculations and FEA).
-
Experience with hardware testing (components, assemblies, or systems), including test plans, procedures, and data review.
-
Experience in the design and hands-on fabrication of airframes and/or personal experience in physically assembling or manufacturing hardware (work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus).

Strong engineering fundamentals and critical thinking skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills for technical documentation and handling of physical documentation and hardware.

Willingness to work collaboratively across a wide range of activities to support team goals – growth-stage startups require a diverse skill set.

Ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.

Adept at prioritizing tasks and executing multiple assignments concurrently in a rapidly changing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Design airframe components, test fixturing, and related hardware.
-
Contribute to the assembly and integration efforts of the aircraft.

Develop tooling solutions for fabrication, assembly, and testing.

Hands-on work with aircraft fabrication and assembly.
-
Support the testing of hardware such as airframe components and engines.
-
Participate in the flight-test team, including travel to the test range and supporting end-to-end test efforts.
Required Skills:

Proficiency in CAD software and hands-on experience with stress analysis (including hand calculations and FEA).

Experience in hardware testing (components, systems, or assemblies) and hands-on fabrication of airframes.

Excellent organizational and communication skills for managing technical documentation and working across teams.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
Preferred (Nice to Have) Skills:

Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.

Knowledge of PLM, ERP, and other manufacturing planning systems.

Software scripting experience in any language.

Experience working with composites and metallics (e.g., welding, rolling, milling).
