- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 2 years of construction accounting experience (3-5 years preferred)
- Proven track record in managing direct reports
- Experience with construction accounting platforms
- Knowledge of Procore and Sage accounting software
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial auditing
- Familiarity with software implementation and job cost accounting
- Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and hold accountable all Accounting staff
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee company-wide financial reporting and provide analysis on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Project Cost Control: Monitor and control project costs, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and contractual obligations
- Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timely invoicing, collections, and payments
- Cash Flow Management: Maintain cash flow to ensure liquidity for ongoing projects
- Financial Accounting: Ensure accurate preparation of financial statements by the 15th of each month, manage annual budgets, and prepare documents for audits
- Job Cost Accounting: Track actual project costs vs. budgeted amounts, verify expenses, and allocate costs accurately
- Expense Verification & Job Cost Reports: Approve project expenses and produce timely job cost reports to assess project profitability
- Billing & Invoicing: Manage the billing process to ensure precise and prompt invoicing for projects
- Audit Preparation: Prepare documentation and oversee processes for financial audits

- Proactive Problem-Solving and effective communication
- Leadership & Mentoring: Oversee training, mentoring, and performance reviews for Accounting staff

- Proficiency in Sage, hh2, Procore, Asana, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and regulations in construction
